The Associate Vice Chancellor for Faculty Equity (AVC-FE) position was initiated in July 2008, reporting to the Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Paul Drake. Jeanne Ferrante, Professor of Computer Science and Engineering and Associate Dean of the Jacobs School of Engineering, serves as the first AVC-FE. AVC-FE Ferrante aims to work collaboratively and innovatively with the faculty and the Academic Senate, Associate Chancellor and Chief Diversity Officer Sandra Daley, the Office of Academic Personnel, the Office of Academic Diversity and Equality Opportunity (OADEO), as well as the wide variety of other campus units that promote diversity and excellence. AVC-FE Ferrante advises and supports the divisional Faculty Equity Advisors, well-respected senior faculty, reporting to their Dean, who provide advice and information about practices that advances faculty diversity and excellence. |
